JACQUIE CAPRI

Having been an actress  for many years under the name of JACQUIE DUBIN, I  decided on a career change and so in 1984 I worked as a PR  Assistant for COWAN BELLEW ASSOCIATES  dealing with clients such as BETTE DAVIS, JAMES STEWART, KATHERINE HELMOND , TORVILL & DEAN, ROY HUDD, ROY CASTLE and Producers such as HAROLD FIELDING ('Singing In The Rain').

In 1986 I joined JAMES ASSOCIATES (Press and Public Relations) as a PR Director.

I set up my own showbiz PR company, JACQUIE CAPRI ENTERPRISES in 1988 specialising mainly in personal publicity but I also publicised numerous theatrical productions and two television series of the BAFTA award-winning PRESS GANG starring JULIA SAWALHA and DEXTER FLETCHER.

My clients included artists such as CHARLENE TILTON, ('Dallas') DAVE WILLETTS, ('Phantom of the Opera') MAURICE ROEVES,'(Tutti Frutti') FRANK FINLAY, ('Mutiny of the Bounty') JOANNA MUNRO, JEREMY LLOYD, ('Hello, Hello')  HELEN SHAPIRO, LARRY ADLER, ART MALIK,('Jewell in the Crown')  MARION MONTGOMERY,  MICHAEL HOWE,('Chess')  ADELAIDE HALL, SIOBHAN McCARTHY, THELMA RUBY, ADELE LEIGH, ('Follies) RAY BARRETT, ( Troubleshooters') LOUISE HARRISON, ('Coronation Street') DANIEL HILL, ELLIE LAINE, JULIAN FELLOWES ( Oscar winner 2002- GOSFORD PARK') and LEE EVERETT and Film and Television writer/director TONY MCHALE amongst others.

During this time I worked as co-ordinator for the annual British Film Institute Awards dealing with artists and their agents, as well as film producers and directors

In 1995 - 2000 I  handled the press and publicity for the RUSSIAN ICE STARS on tour. The productions were: 'Phantom of the Opera', 'The Sleeping Beauty', 'Cinderella' and 'Peter Pan'. Other clients included television actress EMILY HAMILTON and television presenter SARAH GREENE (‘Collectors Lot', Channel Four).

In conjunction with DAVID CAPRI, I co-developed the initial stages of HAPPY DAYS - THE MUSICAL which was his original idea for the stage. This was based on Paramount Pictures’ hugely successful seventies television series. We were both instrumental in getting HENRY WINKLER (The Fonz) involved and the show successfully toured the UK and the Arenas in Australia . I was involved with direct negotiations with Henry Winkler’s Lawyers/Management and dealt with the heads of Paramount in Los Angeles . We were both Associate Producers on this first ever stage production. I also dealt with MICKY DOLENZ of the MONKEES during the early stages of development.
